About this site

hxad.eu.org is an independent calculator for one decision: whether a pet insurance policy is likely to pay back more than it costs, for a specific animal, at a specific price.

Why it exists

Search for “is pet insurance worth it” and you get several thousand words that conclude it depends on your situation. That is true and useless. The situation is measurable: premiums are quoted, deductibles and limits are printed, and expected veterinary spending can be estimated from breed and age. Put those four numbers together and the answer stops being a matter of opinion.

The site exists to do that arithmetic in public, without a quote form in the middle of it.

How the model works

The core calculation is a break-even point, not a prediction:

break-even annual eligible bills = deductible + (annual premium ÷ reimbursement rate)

Everything else on the calculator page — multi-year totals, the catastrophic-gap figure, the savings-fund comparison — is built from that same set of inputs. The assumptions are visible on the page and editable. Nothing is hidden behind a signup.

What the numbers are, and are not

Independence

The site is not owned by an insurer, an agency or a comparison marketplace. There are currently no affiliate links and no paid placements on any page. If that ever changes, the change will be disclosed on the page where it appears, above the link — not in a footnote.

Advertising, when present, is served programmatically and is not selected or endorsed by this site.

Corrections

If a figure here is wrong, it should be fixed rather than defended. Use the contact page and include the page and the number you believe is incorrect. Corrections that are accepted are made to the page itself, not appended as a comment. Every source behind the premium and treatment ranges is listed on the sources and methodology page.

Privacy, briefly

There are no accounts and no analytics scripts that identify you. Calculator inputs stay in your browser and are never transmitted. Details are on the privacy page.
